To get a useful answer on the first reply, include:
- Your phone and OS version — iPhone 15 / iOS 18, Pixel 8 / Android 15, that sort of thing.
- The app version, if you can find it.
- What you were doing, what happened, and what you expected instead.
- A screenshot if it shows the problem. Please don't send a transcript of a rehearsal — we almost certainly don't need it, and it is about a real colleague.
Common questions
She isn't hearing me properly
Check the app has microphone permission — iOS: Settings › Rehearsal › Microphone; Android: Settings › Apps › Rehearsal › Permissions. If names are coming out wrong specifically, it helps to use the name in your opening description of the situation, because the app passes the names it knows to the transcriber as spelling hints.
If the room is loud or the connection is poor, switch to text mode with the Aa button. It is the same character and the same conversation, and you can switch back mid-rehearsal.
I can't talk out loud right now
Type instead. Text mode runs the same rules — your turn does not end until you hand it over — and nothing plays out of the speaker, so it works on a train or at a desk.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are held by Apple and Google, so they are cancelled there rather than in the app. iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Rehearsal › Cancel. Android: Play Store › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Rehearsal › Cancel. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
I'm being asked to pay and I already subscribed
Tap Restore at the bottom of the paywall. That asks the store what you own and unlocks the app. It is the right fix after a reinstall or on a new phone. If it doesn't work, email us with your store receipt.
Is it free to try?
The monthly plan starts with three days free. Cancel inside them and you pay nothing. After that it is US$9.99 a month, or there is a one-off US$4.99 week pass if this is the only conversation you have in mind — that one is bought once and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Both are shown in your own currency at your store's local price, and that price is the one that counts. The conversation itself is what you are paying for, including the first one: you see the situation read back and the person built before you are asked for anything.
My rehearsals have disappeared
Rehearsal has no sign-in, so your library is tied to the app installation on that phone. Deleting and reinstalling the app, or moving to a new phone, loses access to it. This is the cost of not having a sign-up form in front of somebody about to describe a conflict at work, and it is a real trade-off rather than a bug. A subscription is not lost the same way — use Restore.
How do I delete a rehearsal or attempt?
Open that conversation and choose its delete action. You can permanently delete one attempt or the whole conversation, including its transcript and feedback.
How do I delete all my data?
In Settings, choose Delete my data. It prepares an email with your device ID; send it and we erase everything under that ID within three days. Deleting your data explains exactly what goes.
The debrief quoted me — where did that come from?
Quotation marks appear only around turns you typed. When you speak a turn, the debrief describes what happened without quoting it, because a transcript is a machine's best guess at your words and it should not be put in your mouth as evidence.
I found a bug
Please write. Include the details at the top of this page. Bug reports from real handsets have already found things no test caught.
