Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 August 2026

These terms cover the Rehearsal mobile app and this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't, don't use the app — and if something here seems unreasonable, write and say so.

The part that actually matters

Rehearsal is practice, not advice. It is not HR guidance, legal advice, therapy, or a professional opinion, and it should not be treated as any of them.

What you decide to say in a real conversation, and what follows from it, is yours.

What Rehearsal is

Rehearsal builds a fictional character from an account you write of a real situation, and lets you practise the conversation with them out loud or in text. Afterwards it describes what you did and lets you replay a moment differently.

The character is generated by an AI model and is fiction. It is not a simulation of the real person, it does not predict what they will say, and it may be wrong about them in ways that matter. The same goes for the debrief: it is an observation about a practice conversation, not an assessment of you.

What it is not

If you are in distress, or a situation at work has become a matter of safety, please reach a person who can help rather than an app that can only practise.

Using it responsibly

You agree not to:

You are responsible for what you type or say into the app, including any information about other people. Only put in what you are comfortable being processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

Age

You must be 18 or older. Rehearsal is built for working adults and is not directed at children.

Subscriptions and billing

Your first rehearsal and its debrief are free. Continuing costs money, on one of two plans:

PlanPriceRenewsFree trial
Weekly$4.99Every week until cancelledNone
Monthly$9.99Every month until cancelledNone

Prices are shown here in US dollars. You are charged by your store in your own currency at its local price, which is the price shown to you at the point of purchase and the one that applies.

We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and your store will tell you before a renewal at a new price.

Fair use

The plans are for one person's own practice, with no counter and no quota shown to you, because a number counting down is the opposite of what this app is for. There is a generous ceiling in the background to stop a runaway script or an extracted key running up a bill. Ordinary use never meets it. If yours somehow does, we will email you rather than cut you off silently.

Availability

We aim to keep the service up but do not promise it. It depends on providers we do not control, and it can be interrupted for maintenance, faults, or things outside anybody's hands. Features may change or be removed. If we retire something you are paying for, we will tell you.

Your content and ours

What you write and say stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — to process it, send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, store it, and show it back to you. We do not use it to train models and we do not publish it.

The app itself — its name, design, code, and the writing in it — is ours, and using the app does not transfer any of that to you.

Ending it

You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription, and ask us to delete your data. We may suspend access for anyone breaking the section on responsible use above, or where we have to for legal or security reasons.

Liability

Rehearsal is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from decisions you take in a real conversation. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud — and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, which vary by country and always take precedence over these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change with them. Material changes will be flagged in the app rather than only here. Continuing to use Rehearsal after a change means you accept it.
